Career Aspirations

Hi guys! It's me Paige, the maker behind Paige Barbee Jewelry. When I was little I wanted to be a detective, I loved solving 'mysteries'. As I grew older I wanted to be a fashion designer or photographer and after I graduated college with my concentration in metals and jewelry I had a hard time finding a job related to my major. I had about 6 jobs in one year and was even a sandwich artist (most depressing job to date!). I often thought I should have studied graphic design because those were the only 'artsy' jobs I could find.
It wasn't until the other day that I realized I've been able to combine all of these interests into what I do today. I do lots of research for my new collections, design my pieces, photograph them, and design my website and brand identity.
I have felt like a struggling artist at times but like you often hear, its brought me where I am today and I am truly thankful for that. The rough times helped me to appreciate the small victories more.
How have you made your childhood dreams a part of your life today?
