I hear from people all the time who aren't fans of their birthstone, and I get it, mass produced jewelry makes you think you only have one option for your birthstone. You don't have to settle. Here are a few suggestions to help you fall in love with your birthstone or find an alternative you adore. Because at the end of the day, your jewelry should make you feel amazing.

  • January - Garnet isn't just about that typical burgundy shade; it comes in a stunning array of colors.
  • February - Amethyst lovers, try switching up the cut for a unique look, like the rose cut.
  • March - Don't like aquamarine? Opt for bloodstone, an alternative birthstone for March.
  • April - Okay, not many people complained about their April birthstone but if the colorless diamond is not your style, consider exploring the world of unique diamond colors like salt and pepper, pink, or yellow.
  • May - Emeralds are stunning, but have you experienced the beauty of a natural emerald? Unlike lab-grown or simulated varieties, natural emeralds boast unmatched detail and allure.
  • June - Not sold on grandma's pearls? Go for baroque pearls with their organic, one-of-a-kind shapes. Also, consider moonstone and alexandrite, both birthstones for June.
  • July - Rubies not your jam? Fun fact: Ruby and sapphire are varieties of the same mineral (Corundum). Take your pick from the Corundum rainbow.
  • August - Peridot is the most common of August’s birthstones but spinel and sardonyx are also this months birthstones. Spinel, in particular, dazzles with its range of breathtaking colors.
  • September - Sapphire isn't just blue; it comes in a myriad of hues, including the rare Padparadscha, a mesmerizing pinkish-orange shade. Ever seen a bicolored sapphire? This is my favorite of the sapphire varieties, It's like a masterpiece in watercolor.
  • October - Opal and tourmaline are October’s birthstones. Venture beyond pink tourmaline; did you know tourmaline comes in green too? And for opal lovers, black opal offers an even more vibrant option.
  • November - Topaz and citrine are classics, but topaz, like many gemstones, comes in a spectrum of colors. Want a different take on citrine? Don't overlook ametrine, its a unique blend of amethyst and citrine.
  • December - December has three different gemstones to choose from! Turquoise, tanzanite, and zircon. Zircon, in particular, offers a variety of colors from colorless to rich blues and browns.
